Is latent TB visible on an x-ray? Can doctors tell the difference between a fals!
Question: Is latent TB visible on an x-ray? Can doctors tell the difference between a false positive and latent TB this?
way?
I was told I had latent TB because of a positive on the manaux test. Then I went to a second place for the x-ray. The guy there said there was nothing on the x-ray, which means I do not need medication or to even monitor it.
I lived overseas and a year ago I had pleurisy and all the symptoms of TB. However, I don't currently have any symptoms.

No, that is not what it means. When you have a positive test for TB, you either have latent TB or active TB (unless the test was a false positive). The chest x-ray is done to rule out active TB. If it was normal, a diagnosis of latent TB may be made, and medicine would be recommended to treat it.
