Can I be allergic to naproxen?!

Question: Can I be allergic to naproxen?
Either Monday or Tuesday I had a headache so I took some naproxen, I've never taken it before, I always use either ibuprofen or advil and never had a problem with them. I started having an allergic reaction to something on Thursday, today I went to the doctor and they weren't sure what caused it but gave me a subscription.

Answers:

You have told us not quite enough.

What reaction(s) did you have? Rash? Itchy skin? Swollen tongue? Shortness of breath? Watery eyes? Stomach ache?

And what exactly did the doctor give you? Prednisone? Benadryl? Zantac?

Am a nurse.

You can take ibuprofen/advil and be unable to take naproxen. These are two different NSAIDS but belong to the same family. Just avoid naproxen in the future. And, I believe they probably gave you a PRESCRIPTION.

If I'm not mistaken, all of those are actually the same.
