Are abdominal pains associated with Pharyngitis?!

Question: Are abdominal pains associated with Pharyngitis?
I was diagnosed with Pharyngitis and I am taking antibiotics ( Ciproflaxin ) and now I have abdominal cramps. Is that normal?

Answers:

This is probably unrelated to your pharyngitis and more than likely related to the GI side effects of the Cipro that may be coming (diarrhea). You will just have to see how this progresses. And, common sense would be to take some tylenol or ibuprofen for the abdominal discomfort until you figure out what might be causing this.

Health care provider

Allergy to the antibiotic, or gastritis.
