What is a good red wine for lowering blood pressure?!

Question: What is a good red wine for lowering blood pressure?
I am living with Diabetes Type 2 and several other health issues (including Iron Anemia and Pernicious Anemia -- lack of B12). I have heard that drinking one glass (4 oz) of red wine will help lower my blood pressure which would be good for my heart!

My problem is I don't enjoy wine. On rare occasions, I would prefer to have a fruity Sangria or Kosher Black Cherry Wine. I don't think those are the wines I am suppose to drink. Can you make any suggestions? I tried drinking Merlot and can tolerate it but I would like to know if there is a fruity, healthy red wine that would work well.

Also, I heard that reservatrol might be able to lower my blood pressure? Any comments?

Thanks for your help!

Answers:

Black Cherry wine will probably be perfectly good, - as good as any expensive claret in fact.
But two particularly full-bodied and likeable reds are Australian. First is "Woop Woop" and the second "Black Chook".

My own tipple is an Italian, though, Barolo. - Must admit however, that the more you pay, the better they seem (!!)

Bear in mind that getting to know and appreciate wine takes time and a bit of dedication. When they say "It's an acquired taste" it means exactly that.

It's not only the 'flavins' in the red wines that are beneficial, (they are antioxidants). It really does involve the alcohol too, because in small quantities it's a relaxant and the more relaxed you are the less work your heart needs to do. And the less work your heart has to do, the lower the blood flow (out of the heart and round the body), and because BP is directly proportional to blood flow rate, the lower the pressure becomes.

If you don't like wine then don't drink wine.
All you will do is get weight gain and more sugars floating about.
Is you blood pressure high? If not stop worrying and relax does as much good as the wine:-)

A lot of the stores are having sales on vitamin supplements.Reservatol is one I see all of the time. For blood pressure issues potassium is my mineral of choice.

Eat watermelon seeds instead of spitting them out. Also, garlic & cayenne will help. Wine I don't know, sorry!
