How do I remove human urine.?!

Question: How do I remove human urine.?
This is gross, but really, I need your help.

Unfortunately, a man at work, whom the owner will not confront, urinates all over the bathroom. I mean we are lucky he hits the toilet at all. He urinates in that general direction and it actually puddles on the floor. (He is, well, can't sugar coat it, obese and can not see his feet)

At best, the bathroom reeks like an week old diaper pail, at worst, it is indescribable. We had to complain to the owner, because it was affecting our business & our customers. The odor was so strong that it reaches levels that encroach on the entire office. It has gotten so bad that we have closed the vents to the office, (no air no heat) we have to leave the door open for fresh air. I have come to work and gagged and retched upon opening the door. There is a fan in the bathroom that pulls the odor out. I am thinking that the reason it is so bad is that it never gets fully removed before he adds more.

Oh, all of this is happening, with a professional cleaning twice a week. The cleaning company said that when it uses bleach products, they basically are mixing a toxic brew. The bleach combined with the large amounts of concentrated ammonia, actually bubbles up & creates a horrendous smell. We personally have tried the following; concentrated lemon juice, Odo Ban, PURE aYre, Vinegar/baking soda/water paste, hydrogen peroxide, Listerine mouth wash, Club Soda and Bleach products have not worked. As you can tell, we are desperate and try anything suggested.

Please anyone; at all...... what can we use to kill the bacteria effectively? It has to be able to be used on linoleum, wood, toilet & dry wall & base board.

Please save the nasty comments.
Let me answer the stupid suggestions first.

It is not my fault; I have to endure this in order to work to take care of my kids.

NO, I am not going to quit, because that is stupid! I have been with the company for a while & would start at minimum wage at another company doing the same thing. Why should I let El Stinko run me out of my job? Not an option!

YES! I know the owner should do something, but, it is what it is, he won't or can't insult his friend.

You can call the obese guy all the names in the world, still don’t solve my problem, of what to use. His personal hygiene is suspect, as he has a body odor as well. I can not make him not be slovenly. It is above my pay grade& have no authority to tell him he stinks.

I just need the name of some strong product. What do they use to clean concert or park bathrooms? The owner would rather throw money at it than to get rid of the problem.

The owner is a good man who doesn’t like confrontations.
He is generous and would rather pay extra for chemicals that work, in order to make all of us happy & it a peaceful environment.

Answers:

Fire, lots of fire would solve the urine smell.

Other than that, there is a product that will help. The chemical is referred to as "Quats". Here is a link to some product info:

Good luck and smell you later!

This is the cancer board. You may get the answer you want in the cleaning & laundry board instead: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/dir/index;_y…

Not a cancer question

Fresh urine is sterile and usually doesn't have much of a smell. However, urine is an ideal growth medium for some types of microorganisms, and as soon as it is evacuated, it becomes infected with these organisms, and as they grow in the urine, they produce things that smell terrible, such as ammonia. Unfortunately, these bad smelling chemicals cannot be removed by disinfectant; they have to be carefully washed and cleaned away. And it's true that bleach does not mix well with ammonia, nor is it any good for removing it, since it's not a question of germs but of by-products of the germs that are foul-smelling chemicals.

You need to get with your cleaning company and devise something that will scrub the bathrooms down to remove the smelly chemicals from the urine. If there's a lot of it, just a quick pass with a mop won't work. It will probably be expensive if the problem is severe. Anything can be removed with the right methods, but they aren't necessarily cheap. Just soap and water can work, but there needs to be enough water and soap and enough scrubbing to completely remove any traces of the ammonia and other smelly chemicals. It's not always easy.

Why don't you just fire him?
Being Manger/Owner has a big responsibility, if you want to keep your business smell free, and have good reviews, it's time you do a little confronting.
I know it's hard, but you gotta do what you gotta do

There is a professional strength product that hospitals use for the same problem that you might be able to get from a hospital supply company such as Waxie or such, depending upon where you are located. Where I work it's simply labeled "Hospital Disinfectant Spray". We have the same problem in a bathroom used for outpatients and it works wonderfully and will also kill all manner of bacteria and germs. See the link below for a picture of their product. Hope this helps the situation.
