After effects of labyrinthitis?!

Question: After effects of labyrinthitis?
I was diagnosed with labyrinthitis roughly 3weeks ago. I think it has gone now as I no longer feel dizzy. I had cenarizine (I think that's it) to take when I got dizzy but now I'm fine. Unfortunately since I had it I've been feeling really down, slightly paranoid and just start crying randomly. Is this to do with the labyrinthitis? Please help - I feel I'm losing my friends

SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
The most common antihistaminic side-effect of cinnarizine is sedation which can vary from slight drowsiness to deep sleep, and including inability to concentrate, lassitude, dizziness, and inco-ordination. Sedative effects, when they occur, may diminish after a few days.
Other side-effects include gastro-intestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, anorexia or increased appetite and epigastric pain.
Somnolence and gastro-intestinal disturbances are usually transient and may often be prevented by achieving the optimum dosage gradually.
Cinnarizine may also produce antimuscarinic effects such as blurred vision, difficulty in urinating, dysuria, dryness of mouth and tightness of chest.
Central effects may include muscular weakness, headache and euphoria.
Cases of aggravation or an appearance of extrapyramidal symptoms sometimes associated with depressive feelings have been described during prolonged therapy. The treatment should be discontinued in such cases.
Interactions:
Cinnarizine may enhance the sedative effect of central nervous system depressants including alcohol, barbiturates, hypnotics, narcotic analgesics, tricyclic antidepressants, sedatives and tranquillizers.

Helena, in other words, I think it was the medication that yes helped your vertigo, spinning, nausea and perhaps vomiting, but has caused a temporary depression. The half-life of this medication is short, hopefully you will be feeling your normal self, if this persist despite stopping meds for 24hrs, call your doctor, let him/her know how you're feeling. I'm sure it's just the medication, but your doctor may want to pursue a CT scan or lumbar puncture to investigate further. Some brain infections can cause dizziness, headache, fever, change in behaviors and personality. If you no longer feel dizzy, stop the Cenarizine if you haven't already and call your doctor for worsening symptoms; especially fever, stiff neck, persistent vomiting, visual changes or worsening depression, paranoid thoughts or feelings of harming yourself or anyone else.

No long term effects, but as it's most probably caused by a viral infection your body has been fighting a battle and that is probably what has left you feeling down.
Spoil yourself a bit, try and stop worrying. It will pass.

Not nice is it, I had labyrinthitis years ago and was given a similar drug which had no effect on me. It lasted about 2 weeks but for ages after that I kept veering to the left, much to the amusement of my friend.
