Tylenol first.

Drink (hot water + slice of lemon).

Brushing teeth is always good just make sure you disinfect it after and mouthwash.

What? Brushing your teeth will be good for you. Then disinfect the toothbrush! Even if your throat is sore, keep drinking and then drink some more. Take some Tylenol or Ibuprofen for the sore feeling and you will be better able to drink fluids. It is of the utmost importance that you do not allow yourself to become dehydrated. If you have a temperature of 101 degrees or greater and have a throat that is so painful you truly cannot imagine it feeling worse, do go to an urgent care. This could be a streptococcal throat infection. Antibiotics will be needed to cure it. A simple throat swab can diagnose the bacteria. Untreated strep throat infections can, over time, get better, but the bacteria can move to your heart or kidneys and do permanent damage. Even life threatening damage.
