It depends on if your appendix actually ruptured, if there was an infection, or if there was some other type of complication. If there was a complication, you might need to stay home a week to ten days, but only your doctor can tell you for sure. If there were no complications, you should start to feel better in a day or two, and should be able to return to school within three to five days depending how you feel.
