Vicks VapoRub on Soles of Feet Relieves Coughing?!

Question: Vicks VapoRub on Soles of Feet Relieves Coughing?
Does this really work? and they say after placing Vicks VapoRub on the soles of both feet wear socks. Aren't we suppose to rub it around the neck?

Answers:

No, of course not. Even Vicks doesn't say that. The vapor (from wearing it around the neck or on the chest) is only claimed to help clear a stuffy nose.

Sounds like another baseless health claim/rumor. Hey, a hundred years ago people thought putting a piece of red flannel around your throat helped cure a sore throat. Makes no sense, doesn't work. Same with VapoRub on the feet.

For a stuffy nose, VapoRub can have a very mild effect, but here are much more effective meds these days. Don't buy the VapoRub, then take the money you save and buy a cold medicine tablet with an antihistamine and a decongestant. For a cough, buy some Robitussin. It actually works.
