What is work: The Black Death OR HIV/AIDS?!

Question: What is work: The Black Death OR HIV/AIDS?
What disease is worse, Black Death (During the Middle Ages) or HIV/AIDS (Modern Day) and why? I know that the black death killed 1/3 of Europe at the time, but is the overall damage of HIV/AIDS worse? Please help me out =].

Answers:

The Black Death was far worse. It was spread by air, so you could catch it by breathing near someone who was infected. It affected all ages, young and old. It was ugly, painful and so frightening that people abandoned their own family members. HIV/AIDS can largely be avoided by avoiding high-risk behaviors. The available AIDS drug "cocktail" allows people who catch the disease to live a relatively healthy life for years after being infected. HIV/AIDS patients have hope; people who caught the Black Plague had no hope of recovery. (Even though the disease was not 100% fatal, people who caught it expected to die.)

Black Death. It killed more people by percentage (if not by number) and it was at a time when medical science had not progressed very far. With AIDS, there are simple and well known ways to prevent the spread of it drugs to control it.

The black death would be worse. Its a hell of a lot faster in killing you and probably substancially more painful.
