why does my chest hurt?!

You haven't mentioned your age. You haven't mentioned the location in your chest. Is it close to your heart? Could be acid reflux. Could be a rib out of line. Dn't know if it is likey near your heart or not. I'd suggest you might call the doctor and get an appointemnt and show the doctor right where it hurts. He may be able to take an xray and ekg in the office and tell you if your ehart is affected or if it is something less of a problem. My doctor is a DO and he was able to straighten my ribs out and put them back in place (evidently laying on my side can put the ribs out of place) and they popped back in and stopped hurting. I had been worried about my heart but it seemed to be too high for my heart and he confirmed that was accurae. So it can be a number of things. Best to let your doctor figure it out.
