The blood work could be deceiving, as it depends more on an exact date of conception when determining the standards for the results. In other words, something could have thrown the results off and given a different diagnosis than what it really should be. The ultrasound is more accurate and the fact that the specialist said it was good is in your favor. It appears that your specialist is being extremely thorough in determining whether or not your baby has any issues you will need to deal with. At this point though, I'd be optimistic and wait for the results of the amnio. Your age, the positive results from the ultrasound, and the fact that you haven't mentioned any other genetic problems in your family history is in your favor. Try not to worry too much, and think positively that the results from the amnio will show you that there is nothing to worry about.
well I know lots of couples who had similar readings and all had healthy babies...and do you not have anyone to help you? The father of child, parents etc? Perhaps you should be on birth control in future if you are unable to cope with more?? I'm guessing all will be fine....but no one can know completely
