You can ease the symptoms but you can't get rid of the cold. The kindest thing to do would be to postpone the date. You don't want to make her sick, do you?

The one sure way to know that there isn't a quick fix for a cold, is that it'd be worth a bazillion dollars...and since no one is selling it, no one has found it.

Best advice is to let your date know that you have a mild cold, and are going to take some over the counter medicine for it. Let them have the option of postponing the date or going out but not getting too "close", because you are worried you might make them sick.

Medications can only cover up the symptoms so you would still be contagious, just less so. (No spraying the virus everywhere with each cough.) I can't speak for anyone else, but bring a cold home after a date is the last thing I'd want to do.

Try a sinus irrigator (like the Neti pot, or NeilMed sinus squirt bottles). It will help clean out the nose and make you more comfortable.
Drink warm fluids, warm soup, etc.

Other than that, just time my friend!

Gargle with warm salt water. That should relieve your soar throat.
For sniffles, you need to use some medicated inhaler
