What are the causes of eczema?!

Question: What are the causes of eczema?
Answers:

I have just developed a type of eczema (dermertitus)
My is caused by chemicals in soaps, moisturizers and perfumes. For years I have been fine using all kinds of soaps and things, but it has just developed over the past few months. Now I can't use any of the soaps and things that I used to. I have to use emoilents and all natural stuff for my skin.
For 24 years I have been fine using anything on my skin.

For other people it can be many things, it can be something you have from a baby or you can develop it.
Sometimes it can be brought on by types of food, chemicals (in soaps etc) materials, animals or even just through stress.

edit: the person above is right Vaseline is very good.

tells you more about it

It depends on the kind of eczema you have - there are quite a few types with different background causes. You can read a good overview here:

These guys also make a great range of natural soaps for dry skin conditions, including Eczema, all available at Boots. I can highly recommend them and they have great reviews on the Boots website.

Sometimes it just appears like allergies now and then but you could be living in a dry area that saps the moisture from your skin. Occasionally it is caused by something you do such as taking too hot of showers or not drinking enough water. What I recommend for a cure would be to get some hydrocortizone cream which is similar to vaseline or just some lotion and use that every morning.

I get this every so often in the winter-time

I want to no that too
I have it! So horrible!
