Ciprofloxacin tablets for UTI?!

Question: Ciprofloxacin tablets for UTI?
I have no insurance, and very little money. I have tried asking clinics if there was a way for me to be seen, but the cheapest I can find is $40 up front, plus fees and prescription. I can't afford that. I am pretty sure I have a UTI, as it occasionally is painful to urinate, and always painful to have intercourse. I tried yeast infection creams, and nothing happened, so I know it's not that.

A person I know told me to take fish antibiotics, that they work the same. I can get 250 mg tablets, and it's only $15! I googled that 2 a day for a few days should clear it up. I have tried cranberry juice, water, no sugar... but it's been 4 months and it's not working. I have no fever or any other pain. Anyone ever tried this? Please answer, I'm desperate.

Listen...I strongly advise you NOt to even order those fish antibiotics..those aren't what they seem, and trust me...you'll be throwing away $15 that you could be using for your medical care.So..please don't do that.Ok? I know exactly how tough it can be seeing a doctor, getting medication, and even trying to get into a supposed 'free clinic' with little or NO money. But? It IS possible...I only wish I knew where you lived so I could try and offer you more assistance. But,either way...I'm going to throw you some suggestions..and some things that I myself have done, and they worked..some better then others, but I did get results.I was in the same boat your in right now...limited cash,no insurance,etc.Ok...I signed up in a womans clinic, and was only for women...it had what is known as a sliding scale fee program. And,this is where your part comes in to play..your going to have to do some research on your own..meaning,your gonna have to make some phone calls to differenr clinics in your area, and ask questions...like: "what financial programs do you offer for those with very limited incomes",and so on.Understand? You can also call a major hospital within your area, and what I mean by 'major hospital' is..a hospital that also has many different clinics inside, several doctors offices and so forth.Basically a huge hospital,as these hospitals offer and always offer a reduced fee program..always.Where I live..NYC? My hospital? People only have to pay $2 for each clinic visit..and only $2 for each prescription.Period.So my point is..every major hospital especially those with many clinics..will have a special fee program, and this will offer you the means to be able to receive the medical attention you need, and also hospitals such as these also have a pharmacy right inside...also will offer you a reduced fee.So..I strongly advise you to take some of your time and make some calls, and you might even have to make a trip to this hospital, and fill out the paper work necessary for you to qualify for these benefits.And..apply for medicaid.Cipro is a pretty expensive medication...I only wish I had it so I could send it to you myself..if in the US.But,I don't.I understand what your going through, and you've been suffering this long due to lack of financial means.Please...don't throw your money away on these fish antibiotics...if these fish pills were as good as others say they are? Then these fish pills would be the antibiotic cure of the century.Keep your $15,and use it for your medical care....whatever possible..use that $15 for something other than useless fish pills.Ok? Wishing you all the best..make sure you make those calls...if you keep up with making these calls, asking uestions and so on...you'll get your medical care in no time.Sign up for medicaid..seeing how you don't have more than $40,you should have no problem qualifying for medicaid.Take care and I honestly hope everything works out for you.

You keep saying since you have NO insurance..NO money, and NO doctor will see you? The the solution is quite simple.Walk right into any emergency room, and they can NOT refuse service to anyone who can not afford to pay.You have a right to be seen by a doctor at any emergency room department. And,once you receive a bill/statement? You can simply call the financial counselor, and work out a payment plan..better yet? With your low income..you'd easily qualify for a reduced bill, and very affordable payments/plan.Again...all the best.

There IS always a way to medical treatment/s..

I understand your concern about money, but you really need to see a doctor. The only way to cure a UTI is to take a full course of antibiotics exactly as prescribed by a doctor. If left untreated, the infection will spread and cause kidney damage and other serious problems. Kidney infections are very dangerous and difficult to treat, and often require admission to the hospital and IV antibiotics. That would be much more expensive than seeing a doctor and getting appropriate treatment now. See a doctor.

I dont know where u live but i would look for a free clinic in your area. Im not sure i would take fish antibiotics it could do more harm than good.
