Big Toe is red, itchy, burning and tender.?!

Question: Big Toe is red, itchy, burning and tender.?
I'll try to see a doctor soon but in the meantime i'd like to know what's going on. I've had an ingrown toenail on my Big Toe for a while, but it's been improving, and by that i mean when i put pressure on the toe, i feel little to no pain, but the affected area was still reddish.

However, for the past few days a new problem generated on the same toe. It started out with itching but when i woke up the next morning most of my toe was red. The top and side parts of the toe are itchy, with the right side of my 2nd toe itchy and red as well. There's also a burning sensation on the bottom of my big toe. Some small bumps are visible on the toe and i'm wondering if it's Athletes foot. And when i say itchy, i mean VERY itchy.

Right now i've still got the same symptoms, but the effected area where my ingrown toenail is, is now purple instead of red, even though it doesn't hurt me anymore. There's two small areas now that are yellowish/brownish and when punctured, it leaks clear liquid which i think is sweat. So my question is, do you think this is athletes foot or something else? And do you think i'm at risk of a bad infection?

Maybe the nail is deeply embedded into the flesh. If it is really okay then the health of your toes would improve. However by the way you describe it, it actually worsen day by day. You really need to see a doctor right away.
