Tell me about oncology?!

Question: Tell me about oncology?
I'm interested in pursuing oncology and was wondering how much school that entails, what oncologists specifically do, annual salary, etc. And anything else helpful or useful to know would be appreciated.

An oncologist in the U.S. will usually make between $121,000 to $246,000, as seen here: http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=… This can really vary by years of experience, certification, industry, and more. For example, when you are just starting and have less than one year of experience you can expect to make between $87,000 to $237,000. http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=…
Your salary would also vary by certification. It seems that having your American Board of Radiology certification will be the most financially rewarding. http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=…
Lastly, industry can play a role in salary, and you can see salary by industry here: http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=…

Hope that helps.

You need to go thru med-school and than specialize. Expect to be learning till at least your 30st birthday. Annual salary depends very much on the sort of practice you set up. But having a great job is more important than a high annual salary.
