Is this IBS or a bug? help!?!

Question: Is this IBS or a bug? help!?
Im 18 and have suffered IBS since I was 11... although since i was so young and having it doctors said it was all in my head and only diagnosed me properly 2 years ago.

EVERYTHING triggers my IBS. If im the slightest bit nervous, excited, happy about something, sad about something, in a bad mood, too much sugar, eating too much, not eating enough... i basically can't win! ha!

I have the BIGGEST sickness/tummy bug phobia, and for the past 5 days my little sister's had a horrendous tummy bug so I've been reallyyyy panicky! I've stayed between friends houses and even got a hotel to avoid being in the house, but last night I came home and decided to just hide it out in my room!

Tonight i've had an upset tummy twice, and feel really sick. I'll admit... all i've eaten today is a full packet of biscuits dipped in nutella! So at first i thought its probably my IBS.. ive only got myself to blame! But my stomach ache is like not going, and i feel really sick and im really panicky im gonna be sick and i've caught my sister's bug!

How can you tell the difference between ibs and a bug?! Im absolutley TERRIFIED im gonna throw up at the minute and like panic attacking my way through typing this! fml! haa!

helppp?

It seems like in this situation, it was the IBS and the food you ate that's causing your upset stomach. The panic doesn't help either. You may want to try taking deep breaths, yoga, and meditation to help relieve you of your stress. Also, look into AloeElite, which is an all-natural supplement that should help relieve most of your symptoms. My sister was diagnosed with IBS and after she taking AloeElite for several weeks, her condition has improved dramatically. I've included a couple resources that may help you learn more on solving your issue. Hope they help!

Your story really resonates with me - I also was diagnosed with IBS and I have the exact same phobia about throwing up as you do. I can completely understand your pain and panic when someone in the house has a stomach bug.

It sounds like you've done a great job of avoiding it so far. Keep washing your hands like crazy and use a different bathroom than her if possible to avoid getting it.

I honestly think that you're not sick with her illness but it's probably a combination of stress and IBS. I've had times where I felt like throwing up and it was just due to being anxious. I really feel that you'll be able to avoid this illness because you've been so careful and you've hardly been home. If it was her bug, you'd know it as you'd probably be very sick and it would seem really different from a typical IBS episode.

Just as a side note, I know you said you were 18 and you remind me so much of myself when I was 18. I'm 26 now and both my IBS and fear of stomach bugs has improved beyond belief as I've gotten older. I'm not sure why but I really hope the same happens for you too! Good luck to you - I'll be thinking of you!
