Question: How long does it take to get strep throat?

My friend sleep over yesterday night. My throat was hurting very badly along with my head and neck since sat. I went to the doctor today and discovered I have strep throat. My friend is convinced if she's not sick by tomorrow morning she won't get it. How long does it take to catch it?
