I have the flu right now. Is it safe to take Xanax?!

Question: I have the flu right now. Is it safe to take Xanax?
I'm pretty sure I'm getting the flu. Chest hurts, high temperature, stuff in my throat, terrible headache and it's slightly (Just slightly) harder to breath. Would it be safe to take 1 or 2mg of Xanax? I know Xanax and other benzos can cause a bit of respiratory depression, but I'm not sure if it's enough to be dangerous when combined with the flu.

I haven't taken any cough medicine or anything for being sick if it matters. I can deal with those symptoms and just want to sleep it off but I can't get to sleep without Xanax due to anxiety leading to small panic attacks.

If you are not taking any other antibiotics, which you shouldn't be with the flu, then it is fine.

Should be totally fine. If you take a few hundred Xanax, that might be a different story, but benzos are very safe in the short term.

I used to take benzo's for years. I see nothing wrong with taking it while you have a flu. I know I have done it in the past.
