Can flu viruses live on food?!
Question: Can flu viruses live on food?
For instance, a person's dishes that they've eaten off of with food still stuck to it...assuming that the virus got on the plate, will it live on there longer than its usual 48-72 hour limit on surfaces because of the food that's present?

Highly unlikely - the flu virus sustains itself in animal cells, not in food. Wash your hands after touching the dishes (or anything that the sick person has touched), but it's not any different from other surfaces.
