how to tell if your allergic to amoxicillin?!

Question: How to tell if your allergic to amoxicillin?
I was recently prescribed antibiotics and the pharmacist warned me that it may upset my stomach. The first day I took it on a full stomach like instructed to do so but shortly after taking my first dose got a horrible case of the cold sweets/chills, extremely dizzy, violent vomiting, shakes as well as slight trouble breathing and I nearly fainted. I phoned my pharmacists and they recommend that I take my next dose on a full stomach along with some pro-biotic yogurt, but when i did this I had an even worse experience after taking my medication on the second day... Am I allergic to amoxicillin?! Is there anything else I can do to help fend off this horrible sickness every time I take my medicine or should I just phone a doctor and ask for a different medication?

some people just have a stronger reaction than other. maybe you're one of those people that just cant take that antibiotic

Usually vomiting is not a sign of an allergy, but it sounds like you're having a problem keeping the medicine down. Sometimes it takes adjusting to a new medication before your body will accept it. Talk to your doctor and tell him/her the symptoms you've described here. If it is possible to take another antibiotic, ask to have that prescribed instead.

My husband is allergic to amoxicillin and they say if u get a really bad red rash then ur probably allergic but I think u should go to the e.r becuz of ur symptoms and I dnt think ur suppose to take it on a full stomach just with something to drink

it's sounds like an allergy. call the doc and give him or the nurse symptom list.
