Drinking Alcohol = Red/Hot face and Chills afterwards?!

Question: Drinking Alcohol = Red/Hot face and Chills afterwards?
I'm a 26 year old friend. I've been drinking since 18. Occasionally. I'll drink maybe a few times a year. Nothing serious. When i do drink my cheeks under my chin ,forehead and ears turn beet red and feel hot to the touch. This will only last about half hour after i start to drink. Beer or Liquor. I have the same effect. Now when im done drinking for the night and head to bed ( Drunk or "buzzed") I have cold chills i can't stop shaking. I have to be under a electric blanket just to feel warm. (Even in the dead heat of summer).

Now my question is, What would cause all this? My mother always told me it was an allergic reaction. I like drinking, I have no plans on quitting. If it was life threating maybe. Otherwise I'm going to continue my occasional drink. I should also mention, I don't know if it matters or not, but if i drink the drink faster the sooner i get red. If i drink it slowly it seems to lessen it. Sometimes i don't get red. I mean, a sip and then wait 10 minutes have another slowly letting the alcohol get into my system.

Are you Asian. This is normal for most Asians because they lack a certain enzyme that breaks down alcohol in the liver.

You also have to realize that alcohol is a poison, so you're body is naturally inclined to react badly to it, even if there are some mentally pleasing aspects.
