So it sounds like you are going to have repair of supravalvular aortic stenosis, correct?

The surgery is pretty big surgery but newer techniques developed in the past few years mean quicker recovery and less pain than before. The good news is that after the recovery from surgery you will probably feel better than you have for awhile.

Depending on the surgical technique used will depend on how long it is before you can exercise, generally a few weeks to a couple of months. However after that, you may find that you are better at exercising, with more energy and less shortness of breath and muscle fatigue. This is because the surgery will help to improve the amount of blood flowing from your heart to the rest of your body.
Good Luck!
