What is an anxiety attack?!

Question: What is an anxiety attack?
I'm 14 years old and this morning I woke up and took a shower. In the shower my heart started beating really fast for no apparent reason and It was so hard to breathe. It's happening right now but not as much, my heart is still pumping faster than usual and my chest feels weird. Am I having an anxiety attack?

Answers:

Unless you had thoughts about something that made you feel anxious it sounds like a flare of adrenaline.

Anxiety can be both generic and more specific.

If you are fearful for and feel anxiety about a specific event (like a fear of flying) it would be considered a phobia.

Hope this helps

It sounds like it could be an anxiety attack. But it might possibly be something else. Anxiety attacks should probably be called adrenaline attacks. Often there is nothing to feel anxious about prior to the attack.
