Question: My dog has kidney disease, diagnosed last October. She has stopped eating and drinking. Does this mean her tim?
Tache is a 12 year old English Setter. She does not have diabetes

J c, I'm sorry to say yes the time is near, I love cats and dogs and they know when ur sad, happy, need a hug and they become part of the family and to lose them is no different than losing one of ur family at this point all you can do is show her/him a lot of Love and keep her as comfortable as possible. Good Luck

I checked on kidney disease (I have an ancient Samoyed).
"If the kidney disease is detected early and the underlying causes are successfully treated, then the prognosis is usually good as this means that there is less of a chance that the kidneys have been permanently damaged.

However, chronic renal failure is sometimes only detected once it’s in a later stage of development. Here the only options are harsh medications to simply help your dog feel more comfortable, or eventually euthanasia."

I hope you get better answers and that your dog is in the early stages. We all know it's going to happen one day, I dread it.
