My roommate was just diagnosed with Mono. What should I do?!

Question: My roommate was just diagnosed with Mono. What should I do?
A few days ago I took her to the hospital and they diagnosed her with strep, and now they're saying she has mono? Am I likely to already be infected? I know that the incubation period is 30-50 days, but I'm not sure if i have it yet. I've been really good about cleaning, wiping down surfaces, and spraying lysol. Not to mention I wash my hands constantly, but the only thing is that she sometimes uses my phone, and I thought that since she had Strep, that I was safe. I'm really scared to get Mono, I don't have a fantastic immune system, so I know I won't be able to fight it off well if I do get it. What should I do to prevent getting it?

mono as in monoculeosis )question mark . That is not a severe disease and it is not worth worrying about. Almost everyone in this planet had that at one point in time. I would not worry about it as much as you are right now. I had mono to and had a boyfriend but never ever did he get it. And obviously we were intimate and all that. Mono is seriously nowhere near as bad as they try to make it seem.

You have to be intimate to get mono, for the most part, that's why they call it the kissing disease. Unless you are kissing, you're fine.
