If your heart stopped you would be dead.
A heart attack is the pain associated with the heart muscle dying due to a clot that has got stuck. This means the surrounding area does not get any blood supply and starts to die.
It is very painful, and will causes changes in the electrical rhythm of your heart, but it does not stop
if you get to hospital fast enough. Many people survive heart attacks.
Obviously for a severe one it stops - then the person dies due to the muscle dying and not being able to pump effectively

A heart attack is when a artery that feeds the heart gets blocked by a clot or build up of cholesterol. That blockage causes a piece of the heart muscle to die. Sometimes the heart will stop if its a massive heart attack, then if your lucky someone is there who knows how to do CPR and keep you alive...

It gets blocked and stops!
