Gastritis - can't hold my medication?!

Question: Gastritis - can't hold my medication?
I went to the hospital today and was diagnosed with acute gastritis and got a prescription for some medicines but I'm not able to hold them in, because even drinking water sends me straight to the bathroom.

Also, I'm really thirsty and feel pretty weak because of the lack of food. What can I do?

Thanks

My wife went into the ER on 1/7 and was diagnosed with acute gastritis. The gave her something that looked like Mylanta, gave her an IV of morphine and Dilaudid, and finally sent her home after they masked the pain. They only performed an X-Ray to make their decision. She returned to the ER 3 weeks to the day later with the same symptoms but only now more painful.. This time, after 4 rounds of opiate drugs could not relieve her pain, the finally performed an Ultrasound and determined that she actually had an infected gall bladder. She spent the next 13 days in the hospital. Long story short, make sure that their diagnosis is correct. If your gastritis has been taken care of, I do not see why you have any digestion problems. Don't sit at home feeling miserable. Get back to the hospital or call your doctor and explain what is going on. Even changing medications could be an easy solve. I hope these is a simple fix to your problem, but you must be your own advocate. Good luck.
