How much risk of salmonella is there if I use raw eggs in milkshakes?!

Question: How much risk of salmonella is there if I use raw eggs in milkshakes?
In the morning I'll whip up a healthy protein and fruit shake, but I like to put at least one egg in there. Is this dangerous?

Answers:

0.003% of eggs, or 1 in 30,000 eggs are contaminated with the illness. If you are going to make a habit of this then the chances are - as long as you are healthy in the first place then you put yourself at a very minimal risk - as even after contracting salmonella you will be back to normal again in a couple of days.

Be sure to ask your doctor about eating the raw eggs when he gives you meds for something - as antibiotics could potentially kill the 'good bacteria' which could prevent salmonella from doing damage. And once you start getting older and your health deteriorates stop eating the raw eggs,

Also - something for the other people who replied to think about it. The majority of mammals will eat a raw egg when presented with one, instinctively. Surely if 70-80% of eggs contained salmonella then they would be hardwired to avoid them?
