Where can I have an HPV test in London?!

Question: Where can I have an HPV test in London?
Hi, My smear test came altered and was told to wait and repeat in 6 months, but I am worried they did not mention if the sample was also tested for HPV (since it showed abnormalities). I have read NHS does not follow this protocol everywhere, so maybe I am not lucky to be in an area that does it. Can I ask my GP for the test based in the smear results? Do GUM clinics do it? If not, where should I go to have one? Thanks in advance to you all.

I think the first thing you should do is phone the surgery if the smear was done there and ask if they routinely test for HPV in your area.
They should do since it's the biggest risk factor.
Your doctor would know from results of other people coming back in negative or positive for HPV.
If they don't do it I think you have good reason to ask for a repeat with the HPV included.
Have you still got your letter that invited you for the smear? It might give you more info on where else you can get it done. It does in Scotland but England is different with the NHS.
They may well ask you to wait for your 6 months and do it with the repeat then, in which case remind them when the time comes.
Just be a bit careful that you don't go getting a lot of unnecessary ones done.
On a purely personal opinion I would wait for the repeat and make sure it is done if your GP says it wasn't on this one.
Hope that helps.
Regents Park will do it, but it's private so you would need to pay.
GUM I'm not sure but try this link..
PS try not to worry too much about this abnormal one, it's often nothing to worry about. To date I have had 2 abnormal which tested clear on the repeats and am now the ripe old age of welllll, lets just say I am past worrying about getting pregnant:-)))

I have HPV and I am an engineer who works for the largest STD dating and support site STDslove. com. I have to tell you a secret, you can choose not to believe me. But the truth is that this site has more than 1,880,000 members and about 80% members are good looking in my estimation.

Unfortunately, STD rates soar worldwide and most people with STDs don't even know that they have them. The government should grant more money for STD education to lower the rates of STD transmission.
