could i have a symptomless std if it's been 2 1/2 years?!

Question: Could i have a symptomless std if it's been 2 1/2 years?
it's been about 2 1/2 years since i've had sex last. i've never seen anything or felt anything funny while i was sexually active or since then. i know some std's are symptomless and can be dormant and such... like what are they though? i just want to know what are the chances that i have something after having no signs or symptoms ever?

Answers:

Yes, I do believe it is possible to have an STD and show no symptoms. A lot of women whom do have an STD often show no symptoms, thus making them believe they don't have any. I guess it's what we get for having indoor plumbing. I would get a blood test if I were you, just to make sure. Usually, if you do have an STD, you get symptoms and an outbreak (say, if it's warts or herpes) within a time period after having sex, but again, sometimes you can have an STD and show no symptoms. Was the sex you had protected? While although you can still get an STD with using a condom, the chances are a little bit less than if you had sex without any kind of protection. I say that you're probably fine, but again, I would get a simple blood test. Best of luck, be safe! :)

yes, there are several std's that are symptomless particularly to women. herpes, hiv/aids, clamidydia, gonoriah, (srry bout my terrible spelling) and many more. Get tested if you're concerned, some stds wont harm you if they aren't treated but some can cause extreme pain when having sex and make you infertile, or if you leave some untreated for a really long time they can give you other problems and/or kill you. not likely but can happen. dont freak out i just thought you should know. always get checked if ur not sure.

AIDS,herpes are the ones i know that can remain symptomless
