What are my moms chances?!

Question: What are my moms chances?
My mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. It was invasive ductal carcinoma and it was triple negative. The tests showed that it was slightly hormone related. No one in the family has had breast cancer. She was at stage 2 when they found the cancer. She did chemo but the chemo didn't shrink the tumor, the tumor actually grew. She did radiation and then eventually had the tumor removed and had both breasts removed. They tested a few of her lymph nodes and found that the cancer didn't spread to her lymph nodes. She had her final mastectomy on December 2. The doctors so far have been telling her that everything looks fine and that she is cancer free. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me how it looks. I worry all the time, and if it doesn't look good, I want to know. I want to make sure that if the outcome is going to be bad, that I make the most of what time I have left with my best friend. Please give me honest opinions; don't worry about upsetting me.

Nobody can make you any promises; breast cancer can recur at any time, even years after diagnosis and treatment.

Breast cancer that is eostrogen negative, as your mother's is, tends to be more aggressive, and it's frustrating that there is no further treatment available after surgery, chemo and rads; for women who have eostrogen positive cancer there are other options in many cases - treatment is often followed by 5 years of hormone therapy, taking a pill every day.

But survival rates have never been higher, and for stage 2 cancer that hasn't spread to any lymph nodes the outlook is promising.

More than 75% of women diagnosed with breast cancer now survive their disease for at least ten years or more, and almost two thirds now survive their disease beyond 20 years.

I had stage 3 breast cancer, er+, which had spread to 13 lymph nodes; following treatment I am in complete remission and in good health, over 7 years after diagnosis.

Your mother will have regular check ups for a while - it won't be for the rest of her life, as someone has suggested, but the length of time depends on her hospital - at mine, it was 5 years and then I was discharged. I have friends whose hospitals continue annual exams for a further 5 years after that.

Her doctors will tell her the truth; at the moment if they say all looks fine and that there is no sign of cancer, trust them on that

There is the best supplement on the Earth that is called The God's Gift can prevent cancer and even help cancer patients very effectively. The patients can overcome their dangerous stage and last their life using it regularly.
You can make your order here : http://bit.ly/hjFSDW

You can get full details of using the supplement in the book " The Noni Phenomenon" of Dr. Neil Solomon or other books of him about Noni that you can find on Google.

My mom had cancer too. Hers was ovarian cancer. She had it removed, but she almost didn't make it. They gave her a clean bill of health after her first surgery. They said she was totally cancer free. But it came back a few years later. She had it removed the second time, but she's had intestinal problems ever since. I'm just praying it doesn't come back a third time. But from what I hear, once you've had cancer, it's never gone for good. So it will probably come back someday. I just hope it's later rather than sooner.

She's going to have to have regular exams done for the rest of her life to monitor her situation. If they keep getting longer and longer apart over time, that's usually a good sign. She will be getting checked on as frequently enough as they feel its nessecary to make sure there are no recurrences.

I'm not exactly positive how reccuring breast cancer works. In some cancers, if it does come back, it comes back more aggressive. I don't really hear about that too much with breast cancer, but I'm not entirely sure.

They caught it before it could do damage elsewhere, and they were able to get it all out, so it looks very good.
