My brain MRI shows "subcortical FLAIR hyperintesity"?!

Question: My brain MRI shows "subcortical FLAIR hyperintesity"?
A retina specialist who told me I have intermediate uveitis in my right eye made me take a brain MRI to rule out MS.
It came back fine, except there is a part that says "There is a single 2 mm subcortical FLAIR hyperintensity involving the lateral superior left frontal lobe."
what does this mean?

It means you have a lesion in the white matter of your brain. Keep in mind that there are as many reasons for lesions as there are stars in the sky. Nobody's brain is perfectly normal and some of us have a lesion or two at birth while others have a lesion or lesions from headaches or falls.

Now if you had an abnormal neurological exam, neurological symptoms and more than one lesion, that would be reason for concern.

You can always read about the diagnosis of MS or research lesions at the website of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at http://www.nmss.org
The vast majority of us who have MS live relatively normal lives.
