People don't necessary die from flu. Ever since, scientist made vaccine for each individual, your body started to produce anti-body against that certain flu antigens. It's is better to eat healthy, than taking drugs. If your body system is that deteriorated then why not treat it? But remember to eat HEALTH, and exercise, it is extremely crucial. !!!!

Even with no treatment at all, the flu normally resolves on its own in a week or so.

There is no direct treatment for the flu, anyway, as it is caused by a virus, and there's no effective treatment for viral infections (in most cases). Antibiotics make no difference and may even cause complications. The "treatments" one usually takes for flu just treat the symptoms, not the flu itself. The flu itself is killed off by the patient's immune system after a few days, which is why the flu resolves on its own in a week or so.

You can develop bronchitis which causes: fever, vomiting, weakness, chest pains, cough, chills and even shortness of breath.

or Pneumonia which causes: fever, vomiting, weakness, chest pains, cough, chills and even shortness of breath.

worst of all congestive heart failure which causes:swelling of your legs, pain in your chest, extreme fatigue, or shortness of breath. Congestive heart failure, very obviously, can ultimately lead to death.

Basically, if you don't treat the flu, it eventually leads to death, back in the day alot of people died from flu , because they did not know how to treat it, didn't have the medication they had today.

Your immune system will eventually work on it but, in the meantime your body weakens and you could get pneumonia, it can lead to other body problems. The heart can also weaken from the stress created b the bodies inability to fight the flu properly. You need antibodies to help the immune system fight the flu.
The flu can also change or take a different course like we've seen in Legionaries disease.

If you're otherwise healthy, it will normally resolve itself.

If you have existing health issues, it can kill you.

if its just a normal cold/flu your immune system should eventually bring it down,

It should heal itself

it will be treated soon
