Question: Tonsillitis is getting worse?
I went to the doctor a couple of days ago because my throat was quite painful and swollen, i could still speak reasonably well and painkillers really helped, i was perscribed antibiotics for Tonsillitis and now i'm two days in and it's so much worse, the pain is unbearable, i can hardly swallow anything and even drinking water is incredibly painful, at first only one side of my throat was hurting but now there's pain and swelling on both sides of my throat, white patches on my tonsils, my jaw aches and my ears itch and feel hot. When can i expect it to start feeling better? every day just seems to get worse, painkillers no longer have any effect and the only thing that helps at all is eating hot mashed potato or icecream.

I've had tonsilitus a number of times and antibiotics the Doctor had prescribed had always helped, sounds like the best option for you is to return to your Doctors as it doesn't seem your antibiotics have had any effect.
Antibiotics start works up to 48 h, depends from bacterial expansion and medication spectrum.Give it a time.And try to eat better things than mashed potatoes, mashed hot veges or berries.

i honestly think its from too much deepthroating. my girlfriend has the same problem =/
