Swollen glands on neck and groin?!

Question: Swollen glands on neck and groin?
I have a painless swollen gland on the left side of my neck and it started 2 weeks ago when I got sick. I had a sore throat, chest congestion, ear infection, and a cough. The cold lasted a a week and a half. I still have the cough. I was a smoker until I got sick and I have not smoked in 7 days, so I am not sure why I am still coughing. I also notice a swollen gland on my groin. but now I am not so sure because i squeezed it and stuff came out so I am thinking it might be an ingrown hair. My question is should I be worried or should i wait another week and see what happens with the cough and the swollen glands? My cough is finally productive and i am coughing up brownish thick stuff, i have done that before because I get bronchitis several times a year, I always have. Any advice you could give me would be great, thank you! My temp was also 101 for about 2 days when the cold first started but nothing since.

also the gland in my neck is soft, painless, and moves when i push on it, and it is about the size of a peanut M&M

More than likely it's a swollen lymph node. They become swollen anytime your body is trying to fight off an infection normally but sometimes after being sick they don't drain properly and stay swelled up.

Two surgeries to get them removed with the same exact symptoms.
