I've never had one myself. They look very uncomfortable.

No it's nothing like water boarding. With a feeding tube the nutrions are regulated along with constant checking for fluid output to assure the correct and safe amount is being given at all times. I know this because my wife was on this for almost a week while on a resperator. With water boarding the goal is to force as much liquid as possible in the shortest time to cause stomach distress and sometimes rupture.
