Length of treatment for antibiotics?!
Question: Length of treatment for antibiotics?
Thank you for your help. And please don't respond by saying- see your treating physician (that is not helpful). This is a hypothetical question for some research that I am doing. I am aware that antibiotics should be prescribed by a medical doctor. Thank you!

It's kind of hard to have a definite answer with this question. Usually doctors will prescribe an antibiotic specific to the infection, then the length and amount taken in a day mostly depends on the severity of the infection, age of the patient, and the patient's individual health conditions. On AVERAGE Augmentin is given to adults to take twice a day (every 12 hours) for around 10 days but there are around 4 different strengths of this drug. Like I said it can very. Different antibiotics can be taken from 7 to 14 days with a usual infection, yet I know there are some people that take antibiotics for months at a time. Look at the website listed under my source, the bottom of the page goes over Augmentin dosages specifically.
