HELP PINK EYE TREATMENT?!

Question: HELP PINK EYE TREATMENT?
On monday i woke up with my eye all crusty and didnt kno what it was, and kept rubbing it.. then throughout the day it turned red. Then on tuesday i went to school for half the day then went to the doctor. he told me i have pink eye and gave me eye drops. my throat has been hurting since last week so he gave me medication for that. I was taking all the medication and washing my hands constantly, and then i woke up today and have it in my other eye now too.. i stayed home today. but im getting really frustrated and dont know what else to do because i missed yesterdays dress rehearsal for a show i have on thursday, friday and saturday. i HAVE to perform because i cant let everyone down.. My eye doesnt hurt anymore its just red. is there ANY way i can cure this faster, im going insane!

There is no way to speed it up. It is what it is, and you're going to have to be patient. Also, if you can't perform due to the pink eye, then that's just the way that it is. In that case, you won't be letting anyone down. If you have pink eye and you are doing all that you can do to help it, then it's not your fault, and nobody can blame you for it. That's just the way that it is. Finally, pink eye is highly contagious, and people won't want you anywhere near them while you have it anyway. That's life. Sorry for the unhappy news.

A friend who is a doctor says that your sort of request (summarised as 'I can't be ill for that long - I have to get better quickly') is common and makes him want to say "In that case, just for you I'll give you the super fast cure. You're lucky - everyone else just gets the ordinary cure."

I get pink eye too. Take the antibiotic eye drops (it has to be an antibiotic - chloramphenicol is the generic name for the drug), don't miss any dose, rest and you should be better by Friday. Wash your hands after touching your eye - it is highly contagious - hence how it passed from one eye to the other. You don't want to pass it to your friends in the show - you don't want them to go through what you're going through..

The next time you get pink eye, you could treat both eyes to prevent it spreading (ask your doctor if this is OK).
