Is smoking in a car with Children bad?!

That's so stupid -.- First off, smoking is bad, period. Especially around children! You influence them- later they might try to smoke too, since they've seen an older person do it. It's also bad for THEIR lungs, not just yours.
Secondly....I'm chinese, and I dont think you do stuff like that, even though I live in America.... I honestly don't get how you guys get this false info.

When I was a kid, around 5 to 6 years old, my uncles used to take me on car rides and they would smoke with me in the car. I was hospitalized 6 times before they realized that their smoking was affecting me. The doctors diagnosed me with asthma and I've had to walk around with an inhaler and take medicines every day twice a day for my entire life. I don't hate my uncles for it, but I'm pretty pissed at them. I don't know what you think you should do, but if you are going to smoke with your kids in the car, roll donw all of your windows. Car exhaust is not half as bad as cigarette smoke to children. Remember, childrens lungs are half the size of yours and the tissue is very very sensitive, cigarette smoke inflames the tissue of their lungs which means they have less room to breath. And if that happens too often their lungs may become overly sensitive and that's how asthma develops.

Smoking in the car with the windows rolled up is horrible. There are dozens of harmful chemicals in the smoke and because the windows are rolled, everyone is getting a high concentration of it and long exporsure too.

I wont tell you how to raise your kids, but when they get health problems down the road with respitory problems, they will know who to blame.

Smoking around children in any situation is bad rolling down the windows can only potentially blow the smoke back to the children.Can you smoke before leaving for your destination and again when you reach it . Please do not smoke around children,its not worth finding out in the months or years to come that you may have caused them health issues some which Can be life threatening

oh my god. yes of course its bad. do research about second hand smoke. if you can smell the smoke, its entering your system. you really think if you were sitting in the back seat of your car, while a person was smoking in the front with the window rolled down, you wouldnt smell the smoke?? reality check. dont smoke around your kids.

While the air pollution in a lot of the world today definitely isn't healthy smoking and second hand smoke is IMMENSELY worse. Your friend is right. You shouldn't smoke anywhere where children, or adults for that matter, will be exposed at all to second hand smoke.

yes and no if you have a 2 windows open then your children will be fine but if you have no windows open then there basically smoking with you and i varies on the age of the children

I think your wrong... Smoking cause lung damage and second hand smoke for young kids. So your friend is correct. Air pollution is not nearly as bad as second hand smoke. we are exposed to the outside everyday aren't we?

Smoking is bad! Smoking around children is worse. Smoking around children in a small, enclosed space is even worse.
