Is it possible to die from alzheimers disease or not?!

Question: Is it possible to die from alzheimers disease or not?
My grandma's brother has had the disease for about six years now. Now he cannot remember his children's names and repeats himself often. Does the alzheimers kill or will he live with it for a long time still?

It is not strictly speaking the Alzheimer's that kills.
It causes a deterioration in the brain and the person usually dies when their swallow reflex fails and the inhale food, saliva etc.and they get pneumonia
An awful disease for the patient, and very hard for the family

Yes, it is ultimately fatal. The average length of time between diagnosis and death is eight years, although people can live with the illness 20 years or more

it eventually kills the person who has it.
