Pelvic is part of a physical exam. Doc will take a Pap smear sample and also feel around the pelvic area to check that all is in order.

A pelvic exam is a bit more than a pap smear. A pap smear is just the insertion of a speculum into the vagina and then the doctor takes a small scraping of the cervix. A pap smear is part of the pelvic exam. In a pelvic exam the doctor also inserts their finger into the vagina and presses their other hand on the abdomen so that they can feel the size of the uterus.
