heart conditions and Marijuanna ?!

I have a friend who is in her 30's, has a heart condition and has smoked pot daily since she was in her teens. I don't know if she is on any medication for her condition, but I do know that she has had heart surgery at least twice in her life, the last time being when she was a pre-teen.

That being said, smoking marijuana DOES cause a drop in blood pressure and an increase in heart rate, so it IS conceivable that it may harm someone with a heart condition. Everyone is different, so just because my friend with a heart condition has smoked pot for almost 20 years and has experienced no additional health problems as a result, doesn't mean that it is a safe thing to do.



If I were you, I would ask my doctor. Your doctor knows your particular situation better than anyone on the internet and would be best qualified to help you. I know you're 15 and probably scared or embarrassed, but I'm pretty sure that they can't tell your parents you asked and, while they wouldn't encourage or recommend you smoke pot, they might be able to assuage your concerns.



Why do you want to smoke pot, anyway? It's not that great. All it ever did for me was make me super self-conscious and paranoid. But I know you probably don't want to take my word for it!

Don't do it!!!!! My friend has the same condition and he use to smoke weed. It made his heart beat really slow causing your blood pressure to be very low and this can be fatal.

Don't do it, If you really wanted to I would first find a really cool doctor to ask beforehand.
