Question: Bone Marrow Transplant?
It looks like I may have to get a bone marrow transplant sometime in the future. I'm pretty scared and was wondering if there were any others on here who have had one performed in the past. Preliminary results in the database show 667 potential matched unrelated donors. I know it's better than 0 and that makes me a little more optimistic. Going through a hard time in life atm and was just wondering if the preliminary results actually mean that I'll have many potential HLA matched donors? In other words, what are my chances of finding a perfect fit for me out of the 667?

You do have a good chance at finding a donor. It only takes one match and so far you have 667 possibilities. You should speak to your doctor about your fears and anxiety. Keep praying because prayer works and I'll be praying too. Good luck.
