Help with keratosis pilaris?!

Question: Help with keratosis pilaris?
I'm almost 16 and as long as I can remember I've had these ugly bumps all over my body, especially on the back of my forearms, and all over my legs and calves. When you scratch them a white substance comes out that was clogging the poor and the hair that was clogged uncoils. I'm guessing that it's keratin and from the research I've done I think I have keratosis pilaris, however I haven't found many useful tips for someone my age. My parents don't seem to be taking me to a dermatologist anytime soon even though I am begging them since I also suffer from severe eczema on my ankles. I am tired of having this ugly skin and covering up my ankles and my body. Can any dermatologists (or anyone) give me tips, treatments, or products that I can buy from a store easily without a prescription? Thank you!

If your parents have insurance, a visit to the dermatologist should be covered. Schedule the appointment yourself, tell your parents, and ask them to take you. There's no reason why you should have to suffer from this kind of stuff.
