Binge-eating. Please help, is this what I have?!

Question: Binge-eating. Please help, is this what I have?
Oh my gosh, this is so embarrassing. But here it goes...
For a while now, sometimes when nobody can watch I'll eat a whole bunch of unhealthy food really fast and feel like I need to stop but somehow can't. I'll tell myself that the next day I'll do better, and sometimes I will but then the day after that I'll just go back to my bad habits. Today I ate 6 pieces of chocolate, handfuls of peanuts,2 pickles and a small bag of chips even though I wasn't even that hungry. Also, I will feel like I want to throw up afterwards because after I eat all that I feel like a fat pig and gross and embarrassed. So far, I've been able to not throw up purposely after all that and I never have in my life because I know that leads you to bulimia and that seems like heck. I'm 13 years old, 120 pounds and 5 feet 3 inches. If I keep doing this I know I will get even heavier. I really want to stop but I'm ashamed of it and don't want to talk to anyone about it. Thanks for the advice.

Answers:

yes it is, Be careful, most people that binge eat become bulimic and it seems like you are a girl so that would increase the chances even higher. What you need to do is to A) if you want to fix it properly, tell a parent - they can help or get someone to help, but if you still don't want to tell anyone then B) trust what your brain tells you, instead of eating whenever you get an urge, just drink a glass of water, it works 9 out of 10 times. Also, try not to snack and eat only at Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, I used to binge eat when I was in 6th grade - I was 5ft. 6in. and 200 lbs. I followed those tips and now Im 5ft 11in and 175 lbs. It works, you just have to stay motivated

I know how you feel. not feeling satisfied even though you've consumed hundreds of calories.

What you can start to do (change is a gradual process) is drink water regularly throughout the day, eat slowly sitting down, cut down on the salt & sugar - go for natural foods like bananas and apples for snacks instead and most importantly:
Exercise
Walk at least 30 minutes 3-5 times a week.

Be very careful about what you eat.

First of all, find healthy alternatives! You can buy all natural chips at the super market, or just munching on tortilla chips is good, because they're not that fattening at all!

Peanuts are very good for you, and if you like things like M&Ms and stuff, its fun to get trail mix, which gives you a good amount of candy, but at the same time, proteins from peanuts and antioxidants from raisins.

Also, 120 is the perfect weight for your age and height! If you doubt it, have a doctor measure your weight at your next appointment, and if he/she thinks that your fine, than listen to them, because that means you are!

Everyone goes through a stage where they feel heavy, but don't listen to yourself. Your fine.
