What do people with cancer smell like?!

The odor is bad and you can smell it from several feet, but rarely does any human smell it unless it has broken through the skin. Surgeons and pathologists can often smell it after it is removed from the body or once they enter the body depending on how advanced it is. Small non-advanced cancers do not have an odor to humans. I cannot explain it to you, but you know it when you smell it.
A dog’s sense of smell is so much better than ours you cannot compare the two.

I have been round a few people with cancer unfortunately also a family member and there has never been a certain smell. I think this question is a bit insensitive, please remember there could be people suffering from the terrible disease on yahoo answers or people going through a rough time because a friend/family member is fighting it.

There's only a smell if said person hasn't been able to bathe properly for whatever reason.

I think what you are referring to is how some dogs have been trained to smell and tell which patients have cancer by their breath. This is not something humans can smell.

Apparently there is a recognisable odour but in many/most cases it is to faint to be humanly detectable.

Dogs have a far better sense of smell and so can detect it.

If you want to know the smell of cancer sufferer, you will need to become a nurse and take care of these patient,s.
Eventually you will know that smell.
