Question: Side affects of Doxycycline & Alcohol?
My doctor just put me on a 2 week dose of doxycycline but im going away for a weekend 4 days before the end of the pills & plan on getting hammered both nights :). I says to "avoid" alcohol on the package but if i take them in the middle of the day and dont start drinking until like 9pm will i be fine? has anyone ever tried to drink while on this medication? Will there be any serious side affects?

Doxycycline can have hazardous effects on health when mixed with various types of alcohol, and even when mixed with other pills. There has been reports of convulsing, rectal bleeding, and even death. There has even been kidney, visual, and aural failure (hearing loss).
