question about HIV transmission?!

Question: Question about HIV transmission?
I work in a pharmacy i'm a technician earlier in the day around 6am i got a cut on my finger. it wasn't too big but it did bleed. I went on with my day and put a band-aid over it. this patient came to pick up his hiv meds. he paid with 6 dollars in change i obviously had to count it to make sure he gave me correct change. is there any way that i could have contracted the virus through this? i didn't touch his hands i barely grabbed the money. but i was still like freaking out. what are the chances that i could have been infected with hiv? i just really got to thinking about it and its really freaking me out!

it can only be swapped through bodily fluids. You had a bandaid on your cut so the chances are already lower. Unless he urinated, jizzed, spit (even though a low chance with spit) or bled on the coins you have no chance what so ever to get hiv. You can't get it by simply touching someone.

Almost absolutely ZERO chance that you got HIV from this contact. I have to say "almost" because nothing in life is 100%.

HIV is actually a pretty weak virus when it is out of its host. It doesn't transmit well at all on things like money etc. In fact, let's say you stuck yourself with a needle that the patient had his blood drawn with a few hours ago (and the blood dried etc.)...there would still be pretty small risk of transmission. I hope that eases your mind a bit.

if he didn't bleed or ejaculate on his money i think that you're pretty much safe from contracting the virus. if you're extremely freaked out you should get tested just to make sure you're fine

I suppose it a non Respiratory Diseases that allow air-born transmission which doesn't means a lack in prevention measures.

very unlikely, it would be some crazy next to impossible way to contract hiv
